Take me to the style guide!
A lot of people like to use their hair and makeup trial day for their engagement photos, this way it gives you an idea of what your photos will look like on your wedding day too! Its ok if you choose not to do this too! We can schedule your engagement photos at any time.
I recommend sticking with muted colours, nothing too bright or bold, or with loud patterns or stripes on it.
Still struggling or want some visual inspiration?

Take me to the location guide!
One of the most important elements of each session is the location. Its the anchor point around which everything else is organized. Its how you decide what to wear. Its what I refer to before planning out poses and prompts. It sets the stage, the vibe and the theme.
I've created a guide below to help you choose a location. I'm always open to your suggestions too. I love it when locations mean something to you as well. Want to go back to the spot you got engaged? Or your favourite coffee shop? I'm game!
I know you're saving space for those wedding photos, but this session is magical too! They are great to look back on to see how you were as a couple in a more natural everyday setting, and even better they are perfect for Save The Date cards! These images also make gorgeous albums to use a guest book at your wedding!
Lots of great printing options here, so don't forget to make a special place in your home where these photos can live too!
Such a fun one! I love these sessions because I really get a chance to get to know you as a couple, maybe learn that cute little thing only you guys do, etc... and this allows me to not only also fall in love with you, but capture your relationship in a more personal way as well. And this goes both ways too! I want you to feel like I'm a friend as well, this will help us all be more comfortable working together on your big day! And when that friendship is there, magic happens.

This is just a basic list to get you going. Please take some time to create your own, so that I know what is most important to you. You can find great ideas on sites like pinterest, or ask friends and family what their favorite wedding photos are to get a unique perspective, especially older couples all these years later.
One thing that can make or break a day is a timeline. Well crafted timelines that allow for lots of time in between activities will make for a much less stressful day, whereas very tight timelines will make for a very rushed and chaotic day. Chances are, you've never had to create a timeline before, but I have. Feel free to ask me any questions you have about how long things will take, or when we should plan for some sunset photos! I'm more than happy to help!
Unplugged ceremonies can be a great thing. It allows your guests to be present in the moment and watch your love story unfold in real time, without the distractions of having to capture every moment of it. Thats why I'm there! It also helps to avoid things such as excited guests stepping in front of my camera for the important moments and potentially ruining the shot. If your wedding is small, normally this isn't an issue, but if your wedding is big, an unplugged ceremony might be a consideration for you.
Wondering why you'd want to see your partner before the wedding ceremony? One word: Privacy! You won't have anyones eyes on your, no guests will be taking pictures with their cellphones. It will be a moment from your day that is yours, and yours alone. As well, any stress, fears, jitters or nerves you may have will be gone before the ceremony starts. You'll be calmer and more present during the ceremony. Many clients even say the moment they see each other in the aisle is just as powerful as when they see each other for the first time before the actual ceremony. And if you cry when you see each other for the first time, you'll have time to freshen up your makeup before the ceremony!
I highly recommend investing in a wedding album and heres why:
1. Its a beautiful way to preserve your wedding images
2. It becomes a family heirloom piece. It's a beautiful way to share your images with your children or grandchildren when the time comes!
3. You don't ever have to worry about needing an internet connection or a charged battery to view your images.
4. Theres something about holding a physical copy of your images that makes it feel more special and emotional.
5. It allows you to narrow down your absolute favourite images and is a great way to share with your family and friends without having to click through hundreds of photos to show them.
6. They are heirlooms that you can pass down to future generations.
